ADMINISTRATION STAFF Lee Lewin: Lee is the school’s co-founder and now serves as a full-time teacher. She is licensed by the state of New Mexico to teach K through 8 and has earned the state’s bilingual education endorsement. She holds two undergraduate degrees, one in Russian language and literature from the University of California and one in education from the College of Santa Fe. Rebecca Wolle: Rebecca is a full-time teacher with more than 28 years of classroom experience. She holds her undergraduate degree from the University of Oregon and her graduate degree from Oregon State University. Mary Alice Trujillo: Mary Alice has 30 years of teaching experience. She has taught 7th grade through college in the areas of math, science and political science. Her educational credentials include science fairs, math bowls, academic decathlons and cross-country events. She holds her undergraduate degree in biology/chemistry/education and theology from Benedictine College and has coursework toward an M. Ed. in biology from Adams State College. Janet Graham: Janet is the school’s administrator. She has over 30 years of teaching and administrative experience. She earned her undergraduate degree in education from Colorado State University and holds a graduate degree from St. John’s College. Will Barnes, Environmental Science: Will is an environmental specialist who works with the girls rehabilitating and maintaining a section of the Santa Fe River. Emily Dwyer: Emily is the school's Director of Development. She has done development work in Santa Fe for the last eight years for a diverse group of educational and other non-profit groups. Emily holds an M.B.A. from the University of New Mexico and a B.A. from Swarthmore College. Enrichment Teachers Cecilia Binkley, Art: Cecilia teaches art to the 7th and 8th grades. She has studied with three major artists in the area: George Burrows, Mary Beth Schwark and Don Sahli. Her work is currently being shown at Laurel Seth Gallery, Abiquiu Inn and the Lodge at Chama. Joan Logghe, Poetry: Joan has been a New Mexico Artist-in-Residence since 1984. She has won numerous awards in the field of poetry including a 1991 National Endowment for the Arts fellowship in poetry. She presents poetry readings throughout New Mexico and nationally. Wendy Chapin, Drama: Wendy is an accomplished performing arts teacher. She has worked both on- and off-Broadway. She was awarded a Directing Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts. She holds an undergraduate degree in theatre and history from the University of Boulder. Michele Holloway, Fitness: Michele is AFAA certified in low-impact aerobics, step training, personal training and Pilates. Her clients range in age from 12 to 75 years old, both male and female. She is also a guest instructor at Rancho La Puerta in Tecate, Mexico. Darya Peterson, Cooking Elective Class: Darya earned her undergraduate degree from St. John's College, Santa Fe in 2006. She grew up in Connecticut, where she fondly remembers her mother baking bread every week. Following graduation, Darya started her own catering business in Santa Fe. Serena Pullen, Eastern Dance Class: Serena has 26 years of dance experience including training in jazz, tap modern dance, acrobatics, gymnastics, Middle Eastern dance and fire dancing. She has taught both adult and youth classes, and has performance experience both in and out of the Santa Fe area. Oceanna Holton, Art & Volleyball: Oceanna has a degree in Fine Arts and brings over 15 years teaching experience to the school. She introduces students to all types of art, encouraging them to express themselves freely. BOARD OF TRUSTEES Craig Barnes, President: Craig is a former civil rights attorney who represented Denver's nurses in the nation's first comparable worth wage case and who, at one time, obtained the highest settlement for a woman in a wage case in Colorado's history. He is the author of In Search of the Lost Feminine, an exploration of the archeological and mythological origins of patriarchy. His stage play, "King's Yellow", presented the case for Mary Sidney, countess of Pembroke, as the true author of Shakespeare plays. Laura Holt, M.A., Secretary: Laura earned her M.A. in librarianship from the University of Denver. She is currently a librarian at the School of American Research. She spent 25 years as a librarian at the laboratory of Anthropology, Museum of New Mexico. She maintains professional memberships in the American Society of Indexers, the New Mexico Library Association and the New Mexico Book Association. Linda Lippitt, Ph.D., Treasurer:Linda received a Bachelor of Arts magna cum laude in education from Duke University in 1976. While attending the University of New Mexico, she received a Master of Arts in Secondary Education: Teaching English as a Second Language in 1979, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Curriculum and Instruction in Multicultural Teacher Education in 1990. Linda has worked in multicultural education since 1977, emphasizing second language acquisition, learning styles and instructional strategies. After sixteen years as a teacher and program director at the secondary level, she is currently director of her own educational consulting business, Learning Legacies. Begun in 1993, her business provides research, publishing and consulting for educational theory and instructional design. Lee Lewin, B.A.: Lee is a co-founder of the Santa Fe Girls’ School and a professional educator. She serves as the educational director for the School. She is licensed by the state of New Mexico to teach grades K through 8 and has earned the state’s bilingual education endorsement. She holds two undergraduate degrees, one in Russian language and literature and the other in education. Lee devotes volunteer time to the community in the area of civic affairs.
