ADMINISTRATION STAFF Lee Lewin: Lee is the school's co-founder and now serves as co-director and full-time teacher of history and math. She is licensed by the state of New Mexico to teach K through 8 and has earned the state's bilingual education endorsement. She holds two undergraduate degrees, one in Russian language and literature from the University of California and one in education from the College of Santa Fe. Rebecca Wolle: Rebecca is a full-time teacher with 32 years of classroom experience. She holds her undergraduate degree from the University of Oregon and her graduate degree from Oregon State University. Janet Graham: Janet is the school's administrator. She has over 30 years of teaching and administrative experience. She earned her undergraduate degree in education from Colorado State University and holds a graduate degree from St. John's College. Will Barnes: Will is a full-time teacher and co-founder of Project PRESERVE. Will has been teaching middle school science and outdoor education on a part-time basis for ten years. He holds a bachelor's degree from Stanford University, a law degree from the University of Colorado and a Masters degree in biology from the University of New Mexico. He is currently enrolled at the Santa Fe Community College to earn his New Mexico grades K through 8 teacher's license. When not in the classroom, Will is exploring outside, or spending time with his family. Cullen Curtiss: Cullen is the school's development director, and also handles marketing and PR. She has more than 15 years of professional experience in print, online, and book writing and editing, and more than 10 in marketing and PR. Cullen earned her undergraduate degree in English from the University of Vermont and her MFA in Creative Writing from St. Mary's College of California. She and her husband and son love the outdoors, especially camping, skiing, and gardening. Enrichment Teachers Cecilia Binkley, Art: Cecilia teaches art to the 7th and 8th grades. She has studied with three major artists in the area: George Burrows, Mary Beth Schwark and Don Sahli. Her work is currently being shown at Laurel Seth Gallery, Abiquiu Inn and the Lodge at Chama. Joan Logghe, Poetry: Joan has been a New Mexico Artist-in-Residence since 1984. She has won numerous awards in the field of poetry including a 1991 National Endowment for the Arts fellowship in poetry. She presents poetry readings throughout New Mexico and nationally. Michele Holloway, Fitness: Michele is AFAA certified in low-impact aerobics, step training, personal training and Pilates. Her clients range in age from 12 to 75 years old, both male and female. She is also a guest instructor at Rancho La Puerta in Tecate, Mexico. Darya Peterson, Cooking Elective Class: Darya earned her undergraduate degree from St. John's College, Santa Fe in 2006. She grew up in Connecticut, where she fondly remembers her mother baking bread every week. Following graduation, Darya started her own catering business in Santa Fe. Oceanna Holton, Art & Volleyball: Oceanna has a degree in Fine Arts and brings over 15 years teaching experience to the school. She introduces students to all types of art, encouraging them to express themselves freely. Rosemary Baca, Spanish: Rosemary graduated from Highland University. She is a certified tri-lingual interpreter and had been teaching Spanish at Santa Fe Community College since 1996. Michaela Knox, Dance: Michaela earned her BA in theatre and English from Dickinson College in 2003. She has been a dancer and actress all of her life and trained with the National Dance Institute where she taught for five years. She is currently pursuing her Masters degree in Educational Leadership from the University of New Mexico BOARD OF TRUSTEES Craig Barnes M.A, J.D., President: Craig is a former civil rights attorney who represented Denver's nurses in the nation's first comparable worth wage case and who, at one time, obtained the highest settlement for a woman in a wage case in Colorado's history. He is the author of In Search of the Lost Feminine, an exploration of the archeological and mythological origins of patriarchy. His stage play, "King's Yellow", presented the case for Mary Sidney, countess of Pembroke, as the true author of Shakespeare plays. Laura Holt, M.A., Secretary: Laura earned her M.A. in librarianship from the University of Denver. She is currently a librarian at the School of American Research. She spent 25 years as a librarian at the laboratory of Anthropology, Museum of New Mexico. She maintains professional memberships in the American Society of Indexers, the New Mexico Library Association and the New Mexico Book Association. Bruce Miller, M.B.A., Treasurer: Bruce received a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He has worked in the field of corporate finance for over 30 years and currently is working as a finance executive with three technology companies in Santa Fe and also serves on the board of directors of the Santa Fe Business Incubator. Bruce's two daughters are recent graduates of the Santa Fe Girls' School. Lee Lewin, B.A.: Lee is a co-founder of the Santa Fe Girls' School and a professional educator. She serves as the educational director for the School. She is licensed by the state of New Mexico to teach grades K through 8 and has earned the state's bilingual education endorsement. She holds two undergraduate degrees, one in Russian language and literature and the other in education. Lee devotes volunteer time to the community in the area of civic affairs. Janet Graham, M.A: Janet is the school's administrator. She has over 30 years of teaching and administrative experience. She earned her undergraduate degree in education from Colorado State University and holds a graduate degree from St. John's College. Melissa Benedict: Melissa received her Masters of Arts in psychology from Goddard College Graduate Program and her Bachelors of Arts in liberal arts from St. John's College, Santa Fe, New Mexico. She has many years of experience in accounting and management for not for profit organizations, including seven years as the finance director, business manager and human resources/payroll manager a private school. Melissa has been actively volunteered her time in political action groups, music organizations and Santa Fe public schools. Steve Robinson, M.Arch: Steve is a Registered Architect, certified through the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania in Liberal Arts and received a Master of Architecture from Yale University. He has a wide range of experience working with private clients, public agencies and academic institutions. His major local projects include the Gerald Peters Gallery, Awakening Museum and Rio Chama Restaurant. Steven is the author of the book, The Energy Efficient Home. Joan Brooks Baker: Joan Brooks Baker is a photographer, and a native New Yorker, who has lived in Santa Fe for almost 30 year. She is a devoted member of the community of Santa Fe, not only for its beauty and energy, but for its enthusiastic blend of three cultures and a unique appreciation of its core place in the creative world. Joan's fascination for the past several years with the history and presence of the Black Madonna has resulted in a current slide presentation of Black Madonnas and her portraits of women.
